Duke Energy North America (DENA) Washington Energy Facility

My project from March to June 2002...the DENA 620 MW combined cycle power plant in Washington County, Ohio, just north of Waterford and near Marietta. This aerial photograph of the jobsite was taken just before I arrived in early March. This view looks northeast, with the two Aalborg heat recovery steam generators (HRSG's, or boilers) in the foreground. Inside the building are two GE gas turbine generators which supply waste heat to the HRSG's. The generated steam drives a GE steam turbine. "First fire" or initial steam generation, occurred in April, and commercial operation was achieved several months later.
