Dublin, Ireland trip, June 2019

Ernest Shackleton statue in Athy
A new statue of Shackleton by Mark Richard next to the Athy Heritage Centre, soon to become the Shackleton Museum.

I spent a week in Dublin, Ireland, 5-11 June 2019...the main excuse was to attend the 4th "South Pole-sium" headed up by Robert Stephenson, the creator/webmaster of antarctic-circle.org. The event was a small gathering (~45 people for the main event) of book collectors and people interested in Antarctic history.

There was an evening and a full day of meetups, presentations, food and drink on Friday and Saturday, followed by a full day tour on Sunday of Shackleton sites.

The captions may not be obvious if you look at the collage of massed thumbnails, but click on the first photo to get started. And if you don't see captions when looking at the individual photos, click on the ⓘ.

Here is the link to the album. I'll put up another page of my Dublin photos soon (heading to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival tomorrow morning and haven't finished packing).
